    Overview

    The Client Development Manager is responsible for the creation and implantation of in-club Core events. Within each event, responsibilities include project development, execution monitoring, issue resolution and client reporting. In this highly visible role, the CDM will be the key point of integration between the Client/Supplier and the Field to ensure the seamless delivery of execution.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage Client Accounts to ensure needs are being met and additional business opportunities are identified
    • Establish, maintain and enhance sound client relationships
    • Responsible for the creation and implementation of Sam’s Club demo events
    • Project management duties to include: event program tracking, timeline development and management, demo count, pre and post-promotional analysis
    • Quote and adjust estimated client cost
    • Responsible for oversight of timelines and corresponding of revisions
    • Ability to make autonomous decisions on behalf of the company strategy
    • Develop effective client and retailer relationships to facilitate communication and execution with internal departments, including creative, production, to ensure that deliverables are successfully achieved
    • Establish knowledge of client brands and driving solutions specific to brand needs
    • Responsible for monitoring and reporting program results
    • Collaborate with Operations to ensure complete and timely execution of all retail task
    • Facilitate communication and execution with internal departments, including creative, production and marketing to ensure that client deliverables are successfully achieved.
    • Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reporting to Buyers at Sam’s Club to track category and program activity
    • Maintain awareness and a thorough understanding of our client’s marketing strategies to meet goals
    • Works with Business Development Team to facilitate category growth and build demo programming
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at Sam’s Club to be able to create innovative programs that help drive the suppliers’ new offerings, event count and sales
    • Act as the sole point of integration between suppliers, Operations, Merchandising and Sam’s Club to ensure the seamless delivery of execution
    • Track all demos and projects for my suppliers from conception to completion with specified deliverables

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field and/or Equivalent Work Experience

     

    Experience:  1-3 Years in Relevant Industry (Retail Management, Event Marketing, CPG Sales); Management or Supervisory (a Plus)

     

    Physical Demands: Work Hours Normal (unless required by the business); Minimal Travel (if any); Sitting for Extended Periods of Time; Continuous Computer Work

     

    Specific Skills:

    1. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Suite applications especially Excel and Outlook.
    2. Knowledge & use of internal software/system applications necessary to support the department—One Drive, Event Trak and Demo Trak.
    3. Ability to multi-task and manage duties with accuracy and handle a fast-paced work environment.
    4. Flexible and open to changing priorities within compressed timeframes.
    5. Solid project management skills; well-organized & detail-oriented.
    6. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision but also in a team environment with other CDMs, BDMs, etc.
    7. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    8. Solid communications skills (verbal, written).
    9. Able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external clients and/or team members.

     

    Certifications/Licenses: Nothing required for this position; it is recommended that field training & certifications are completed for the business vertical the Event Manager supports (e.g. FREEOSK, Merchandise Solutions or Adult Beverage) but at supervisor discretion.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility: None.

     

    Working Conditions (environment in which the job is performed): Office. Minimal travel required.

     

    Language Skills:  English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills would be a plus.

     

    Salary: Compensation based on competitive wage analysis, position scope and experience.
