Overview

The Demand Planning Services Analyst will lead all inventory demand planning activity for a Client. This includes baseline and promotional forecasting, collaboration with supply chain and striving to maintain excellence in all logistics KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively collaborate on supply chain and inventory demand forecasts
  • Work baseline demand forecast / Forecast Manager Partner on inventory needs for resets/revisions Recommend appropriate markdown strategy to minimize excess on discontinued items Proactively monitor and manage subscribed store inventory level through a standard cadence
  • Review/monitor demand planning metrics and perform root cause analysis Preventative planning and/or reactive solutions to inventory productivity opportunities
  • Track and monitor receipts into distribution centers to ensure proper achievement of demand planning targets
  • Proactively collaborate on demand planning forecasts for display volume
  • Perform demand/sell-through analysis on past/current displays
  • Recommend tiered display quantities to maximize door count and avoid excess inventory
  • Follow speed to shelf process for new item launches
  • Collaborate with merchants/supply chain and manufacturer sales/supply chain teams on launch activity
  • Ensure alignment on new item forecasts and base/promotion demand forecasts that are used for production plans
  • Ensure good ad preparedness and complete post event analyses for promotional events
  • Communicate sales, subscribed store in-stock %, Distribution Center and store days of supply, and forecast to sales accuracy
  • Make recommendations to improve process/planning for future events
  • Recommend opportunities to achieve end to end supply chain cost savings
  • Monitor lead times, order frequency, order multiples, transportation options, etc.
  • Participate in monthly on-site share group discussions
  • Share best practices and training with other suppliers and Walgreens team members
  • Participate in quarterly supplier collaboration forum meetings

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in any combination of the following; Retail, Supply Chain, Planning and/or Inventory
  • Proficiency with JDA and Predictix preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with Clients.
  • Fluent with Microsoft office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required
